Our Expertise in Electronic Logbooks and Digital Maritime Records
At nauticAi Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fleetrange Ltd, we bring over a decade of continuous innovation, development, and field experience in the digitalization of maritime logkeeping. Our mission is to help ship operators modernize and streamline their onboard compliance with cutting-edge, user-friendly, and IMO-aligned Electronic Logbook (eLog) solutions.
Proven Track Record Since 2011
Our CEO, Captain Henrik Ramm-Schmidt, has been at the forefront of eLog development since 2011, when he served as Product Manager for shipboard safety solutions at NAPA Group, one of the maritime industry’s earliest and most respected providers of electronic logbooks. After a successful tenure at NAPA, Henrik co-founded Fleetrange Ltd and later nauticAi Ltd, where his work has continued to focus on safe, compliant, and accessible shipboard systems, including eLogs.
Henrik holds a Bachelor of Maritime Studies (Master Mariner) and has served in all positions on various merchant ship types, from deckhand, officer, Master and Technical Superintendent all the way to ship owner. His leadership combines both seagoing and software product development expertise. He has also contributed to multiple maritime technology R&D initiatives, including ESA-funded projects on autonomous navigation and maritime situational awareness.
Technical Leadership and Development Capabilities
Our Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Hiski Nuortie, leads the development of our cloud-based marine software architecture. With over two decades of experience in software engineering, including roles at Nokia and Ericsson, Hiski brings deep technical and operational knowledge to our platform design.
Hiski is responsible for the full lifecycle of software development—from requirements analysis to system integration—and has particular expertise in cloud infrastructure, telecommunications software, and secure, scalable web applications. He holds an M.Sc. in Energy Technology from Helsinki University of Technology with a minor in Telecommunications Software.
Our Research Footprint & Industry Contributions
Over the past decade, nauticAi Ltd and its parent company Fleetrange Ltd have actively contributed to both practical and academic work on e‑logbook systems and maritime operational intelligence. Below lists some of our actions and contributions.

Our eLog System: Practical, Compliant, and Trusted
The nauticAi electronic logbook is a fully featured, role-based shipboard recordkeeping system designed by maritime professionals, for maritime professionals. It is already operational on multiple vessels—see our News section—and integrates seamlessly with onboard systems and sensors. Designed to meet the highest regulatory and technical standards, nauticAi Log is fully compliant with ISO 21745:2019, IMO MEPC.312(74), MEPC.372(80), and IMO Resolution A.916(22). It delivers best-in-class functionality, flexibility, and interfacing options for modern ship operations.
Where required, EU eIDAS-compliant Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) options are also available—meeting even the most demanding security and legal validation standards for logbook entries (we are among the first, if not perhaps even the only company providing this functionality in its fullest).
Key features include:
- Multiple log types (e.g., Deck, Engine, Radio, MARPOL, Ballast, Noon Reports, Safety, Medical, Cargo operations, Compass)
- Time-stamped entries with secure user authentication
- Advanced data backup, export, and archiving options
- Built-in audit trail, versioning, and change history
- Secure cloud synchronization with offline redundancy
- Seamless integration with onboard equipment and IT systems
- Regulatory alignment with MARPOL, SOLAS, and Ballast conventions + ISO and Class standards
Capacity and Scalability
We have both the technical infrastructure and operational readiness to deploy the nauticAi eLog system across fleets. Our backend development infrastructure is hosted in ISO 27001-certified environments with redundancy and real-time monitoring. The eLogs themselves run in isolation onboard ships with the highest level of cyber security, utilising for example the latest available maritime hardware. We are also able to customize the platform for specific flag or owner requirements, ensuring operational flexibility.
Upon accreditation, we are ready to initiate installations immediately and provide user training, documentation, and customer support. Our current customer base includes vessels flying multiple flags, and we maintain active feedback loops with crews to continually improve usability and compliance alignment.
